Tiny Ear Club

Inspired by the concept of a Japanese listening bar, Tiny Ear Club was designed for our first ever public event after securing a studio at Space4Art. How could we maximize the number of participants while also providing an intimate solo experience in a loud and busy atmosphere?

Our answer was an audio-based experience with noise canceling headphones. Participants signed up for a 5 minute block at the studio door. We escorted one participant at a time into the room, headphones on, and showed them a menu of emotions. Once they made their selection, an audio passage with accompanying music would play. One facilitator would remain in the room inhabiting the role of bartender, present but allowing the participant space to process their emotion of choice.

We managed to get two participants to cry - a strong showing for a five minute experience.
